Weathertop Nursery was established in 1978 by Jordan and Beverly Celso and their son Jordan Celso Jr. They created a wonderful place for the community members of Laytonville to come and acquire what they needed locally for all garden lovers. Jordan and Beverly held an annual chili cook off that brought the community together to have a really good time. The three large redwood trees on the property they planted are standing strong and memories they left to share with us.
 

In 1986 the business was sold to Jean Marie and Marcia Lagourgue.   They gave their whole hearts to Weathertop and continued to expand and offer even more to the community. They successfully ran Weathertop Nursery for 20 years before retiring in the fall of 2006.
 

Lurane (Dalton) Cassidy and Harvest Cassidy went for the dream of buying Weathertop Nursery.  

Jean Marie and Marcia were pleased with this idea and helped Lurane and Harvest with one and half year apprenticeship to learn the business.  In December of 2006 they took over as the new owners.

 

Lurane and Harvest grew up in Laytonville.  They both came from large families and worked very hard together to create a strong foundation for themselves.   They enjoyed and shared 24 amazing years of love together.  Harvest life was taken to early in 2015 by cancer.  He is missed dearly.  Lurane continues to carry on their dreams and vision.
